I found him! I found the perfect man—the perfect role model for
exquisite, multidimensional masculinity! He’s Rod Tid-well, the
football player portrayed by Cuba Gooding, Jr., in the movie Jerry
Maguire. Yes, I know, he’s a fictional character, nonetheless, I’m absolutely
positive that he already exists in real life, and that he is the
potential in every one of you men.
What makes Rod so “perfect”? He’s got a big, strong male body
(okay—he’s an unbelievably muscled hunk…that’s the biology in
me talkin’), he’s committed to excellence in his work, he’s determined
in his goals, and (here’s where the multidimensional part comes in)
even when he’s asserting and aggressing all over the phone to his
agent about contract and money, he doesn’t miss a beat in gently
touching his small son’s head as the boy leaves the table after
breakfast.
